Two motorists travelling on the same route collided, causing one vehicle to go off track and into the area where the officers and road ranger were attending to the initial crash. Guadama, unfortunately, sustained fatal injuries from the incident.

This recent incident brings into sharp focus the consequences of insensitive and irresponsible on-road behavior. Latoya Hayes, the 44-year-old Fort Lauderdale resident responsible for the horrific accident, was found to have a blood-alcohol concentration of .168 at the time of the crash—more than double the legal limit. Hayes now faces multiple charges, including DUI Manslaughter (UBAL) and Vehicular Homicide, among others.
